CHFA West – Recap

Treathearts and It’s Not Bacon lineup participated in the CHFA West Trade Show happening in Vancouver, BC. CHFA West is the largest conference and trade show in Western Canada serving the natural health and organics industry. Overall, Everyday Superfoods had yet again, another great show for the books!

Treathearts made it’s first appearance in Canada and the feedback we got was overwhelmingly positive. Countless times we had large distributors, brokers and store buyers stop by the booth to comment on the overall packaging design, brand, look and feel as they thought it was a great fit for what they needed.

Several buyers came by the booth on day 1 to grab a dog treat to take home with them to their furry little friend. The following morning they returned back to the booth saying “I need this!” “who can I buy this through!?” – “my dog is very picking on what he eats and typically snuffs off other things I’ve given to him but he devoured the treat without hesitating” – as he walks away with another sample to take home with him.

We are thrilled to have the opportunity to be rolling out the Treathearts lineup as fast as we did this early into 2017.

One word, WOW. The Global Pet Expo has been quite the show so far. Team Treathearts is on its final day of the trade show and has had an absolute blast! Global Pet Expo never disappoints, there has been so much hype leading up to the show as we were counting down the days to display the new Treathearts lineup. 13 football fields long surrounded by a sea of pet gear in all different directions, its overwhelming; you don’t even know where to start. I felt like a golden retriever in a tennis ball factory!

Our purpose for participating in Global this year was to display what makes Cameron’s Organics different from anything else out there today, and on the show room floor. I believe we did just that. Cameron’s Organics grain free / wheat free dog treats was put to the ultimate test this week and it couldn’t have gone any better. From a visual, educational and feedback standpoint.

Obviously, like anyone else participating in the show it’s about putting your product up to the test to see how people interact with it. It’s either a hit or back to the drawing board. Overall, we felt like the Cameron’s Organics – Treathearts lineup made a surreal first impression and we look forward to our official launch.

Best Treats for Your Dog Are Grain Free – Why?

Giving your dog treats is an effective way to offer rewards during training, but it is important to make sure you are buying healthy treats. Many dog treats on the market contain fillers, such as grains, that do not provide much nutrition. In some cases, they can also trigger allergic reactions or digestive issues. You can avoid these problems by looking for the best grain-free dog treats.

Problems With Grain Fillers

Fillers are ingredients that pet treat manufacturers sometimes add to their products in order to reach certain calorie counts and energy requirements. These ingredients, which include grains, rice and corn, are considered empty calories because they do not provide dogs with the nutritional content they need, such as protein. Fillers are an inexpensive way for manufacturers to bulk-up dog food and treats, which is why they are used so often.

Unfortunately, fillers are associated with a number of issues in dogs. Fillers can lead to problems with digestion and allergies in some dogs. They can also make it harder for dogs to get all of the nutrients they need in order to stay a healthy dog. When dogs fill up on these treats, they are not as likely to fill up on their dog food, which could end up causing nutritional deficiencies. Dog treats with fillers can also cause dogs to gain an unhealthy amount of weight and become obese, which raises their risk of developing more serious health problems.

Grain-Free Dog Treats

Getting the best grain-free dog treats helps ensure that your dog is not filling up on empty calories. It also reduces the risk of your dog developing diarrhea and other digestive problems that grains can cause. Dog treats that contain healthy alternatives, such as quinoa, will provide your dog with vital nutrients, including protein and magnesium. These types of treats will help your dog meet nutritional requirements on a regular basis, especially when you are also getting dog food that is free of grains and fillers.

Keep in mind that it is still important to make sure most of your dog’s nutrition is coming from dog food rather than treats. While it is alright to give your dog treats from time to time, keep these amounts limited. In general, treats should only account for ten percent of your dog’s daily calorie intake.

Dogs eat and eliminate less when they are on an organic diet. They tend to have more predictable bowel movements with firm, less smelly stools.

4. Better overall health and stronger immunity. Even if you dog doesn’t suffer from skin ailments, obesity or digestive problems, an organic diet can still be of benefit.

Although nearly every brand of dog treats claims to be “nutritionally complete,” most veterinarians still recommend “premium” brands of dog treats over “grocery store” varieties. At the heart of the matter is and always has been the better nutritional value of the premium brands.

Organic dog treats provides better quality sources of nutritional substances than even the non-organic, premium brands. It is more digestible for dogs. One final, key factor is that because it is more digestible, dogs are likely to absorb rather than eliminate more of the nutrients they require to maintain a healthy immune system. Boosting your dog’s immunity may help prevent costly infections and illnesses that require veterinarian care.

5. Quality of Life and Longevity. Just as the quality of your diet affects the quality of your life, what you feed your dog will have a direct impact on how he or she looks, feels, and acts. By feeding organic treats you can help ensure your dog lives a long, happy and healthy life.It is one ingredient in an overall healthy lifestyle you can help your dog enjoy.
